Saugerties Little League is now accepting sign up’s for our 2013 Fall Ball season. Fall Ball is an extra baseball season that takes place in August, September & early October; where teams compete and travel to play against other teams from our district (Chatham, Cairo, etc.). Games are typically (but not always) played as doubleheaders on Saturdays. It’s a great learning experience, and nice chance for players to experience travel baseball against other leagues.
Our fee for this program is $20 per player or $30 for families.
If interested sign up on the link to the left or please mail payment to:
Saugerties Little League-Fall Ball
PO Box 382

Or sign up in person with our majors coordinator, Stephen Dodig; Monday July 15 from 5:30 to 7:00 at the Hutton House or anytime you can find me in July. Please feel free to email me directly firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns; or to make alternative arrangements to sign up.
Dear Little League Community,
As all of our All-Star teams are still in play, and some folks are gearing up for Fall Ball, I felt it important to communicate with all of you as we approach the ultimate conclusion of the 2012-2013 season to provide a few updates.
This year our Board was responsible for a number of significant decisions.
We revised the age-old tradition of a Baseball Opening Day! This celebration of all things baseball/softball was a marvelous event and one that speaks to the traditions and the grand sport we all hold so dear.
We approved the use of Patched Umpires for our Boys and Girls Majors Divisions, and Girls Seniors Divisions. The use of the KBUA, and KSUA groups was considered a great success, and was afforded completely by our Concessions efforts. Thanks to you if you volunteered in this regard!!!
We consolidated our Boys Majors Division from 9 teams to 8. This was the number of teams that existed prior to the merge of Glasco and Saugerties several year ago, and was seen as an important step towards maintaining a standard of play that we are accustomed to in Saugerties!
We have approved a field use plan that will finally provide for “skinned fields” for our Girls Divisions as is the trend and best practice in Girls Softball. These field upgrades will be an ongoing project coordinated with the Town Parks and Recreation.
We oversaw the final touches on a newly minted Fence and ultimate drainage project on the Davi Field in Glasco
We are providing for portable fencing for Field #6 as well as a new “stadium” style fencing for Field #2
While there may be other accomplishments these stand out, and by the way were in the midst of a very busy regular season schedule in which 100% of ALL Board members participate themselves as Coaches, Managers, and busy Spectating Parents!!
This September we will be revising our Constitution to provide for the election of Board of Directors in September. This is an important step in hopefully seeing greater involvment of more volunteers in the planning for the upcoming year. There are currently an extensive number of anticipated vacancies, and all interested parties should take note: Little League does not happen without VOLUNTEERS.
The attached information should outline the details. See a Board Member if you have any questions or interest.
Thanks, and have a great end to the 2012-2013 Season!
Anticipated Vacancies for the 2013-2014 Season:
Baseball VP/Boys Commisioner
Softball VP/Girls Commisioner
Baseball Majors Coordinator
Co-Coordinator for Concessions in Glasco
Girls Seniors Coordinator
Baseball Minors Coordinator
Safety Officer/Field Liasion

You are also still able to sign up for the camp directly through UCCC……I just need to know if your child will be taking advantage of the bus so I can add his name to the list and make sure to reserve a spot :-) A quick message letting me know his name is all I need in that case :-)
As always any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask :-)
Just a reminder about the UCCC Camp…..we still have plenty of seats available for bus transportation to the College in the morning.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our kids, Steve Freer is a very accomplished athlete and coach, and our children can only benefit from his knowledge.
You can still sign up directly through the college or with me. I’ll be at Cantine Field tonight June 17th from 5:30 – 6:30 at Fick Field.
Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask :-)
